Received it with quite a few dents/dings but for what I paid for it ($35) I was willing to overlook those. So the lamp has a very unique look compared to what you'll find on most shelves but beyond the enjoyable looks i haven't found it very efficient or functional. Its somewhat like a flashlight where it provides ample light as long as you hold your reading material directly underneath.. as far as light to fill the surrounding space, it fails miserably. The "natural light" is far too harsh to use the lamp on its own for nighttime reading and such. I bought it for heavy-duty reading on my desk and on a side-table near the couch (grad school!) and its failed in either of those capacities.

I purchased the lamp for my office at work. The office is a space with no exterior windows. This lamp has two features I have come to appreciate. The first is that because the height is adjustable, I have been able to fit it above my work table that holds a printer. The second great feature is the type of light -- just like natural light and with no hum of the bulb.

This is a nice looking lamp and puts out allot of light as well. The item looks good on the site but I was even more impressed with the quality when I received the actual product. This is a great value at this price!
