Great light January 6, 2009 Light is tiny and nicely made. In an unscientific comparison with our huge, heavy, 4-D-cell Maglite, the Streamlight is close to the same brightness. You won't be able to subdue intruders with it, as you might with the Maglite, but you can carry it in any pocket.
THE BEST compact flashlight ever made! January 4, 2009 I've been an indoor/outdoor heavy equipment mechanic for over 20 years. An avid hiker/camper/hunter/fisher. I have used every kind of flashlight you can imagine and then some.
They always seem to have one fault or another. Too bulky, too dim, too expensive, funky/hard to find batteries, ect.. I have used them all.
This flashlight is perfect! It has a VERY BRIGHT, clean light. It's compact, lightweight and batteries are never a problem.
Do the math!
Excellent Light January 2, 2009 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The perfect light for its size, never be left in the dark without it! This light is almost the same size as a Maglite Solitaire, but so much better.
*Rated at .5 watt/20 luments of bright blinding light. Enough to light up your dark living room at night, find something under the car seat, blind a person, walk the dog, etc.
*Only uses 1 AAA battery, and it is so efficient that it makes the battery last a long time. Not to mention the light already comes with a battery.
*Comes with pocket clip, fits unobtrusively in your shirt or pant pocket till you need it.
*Comes with lanyard, can be hung around neck or wrapped around wrist while jogging.
*Although you might think $15-20 is too much for a little light, if all you need the light for is average use, this will be the only light you ever need. And since it uses AAA batteries, it is inexpensive to operate.
*The light does travel pretty far, has great sidespill, and is as brighter than a 2 cell Maglite. Not your tactical level light, but good enough for simple tasks. Then again if what you're looking for is a penlight for medical purposes, this is not the light for you because it IS too bright for a person's eyes.

I've had this light for about a week. I bought it with the intention of leaving it in my backpack (a smaller replacement for an aging mini-maglite). Well, the maglite is still in my backpack- the streamlight stays in my pocket. It is small and lightweight enough to be carried un-obtrusively. I'm amazed at how bright it is, and everyone who has seen has wanted one. Great product, great price.
Another Streamlight Winner! December 24, 2008 As an owner of several Streamlight Flashlights, I can tell you that they have hit another home run with the Streamlight Microstream. Streallight has an excellent reputation for making durable LED flashlights, and this one is built to put up with punishment in much the same way as the Streamlight Jr. Luxeon, and the Streamlight TL-2. The most amazing thing about this flashlight is the incredible amount of light coming from a flashlight powered by only one AAA battery! It may look like a toy, but this is a serious flaslight, and it will light up a significant area at a good distance. Another nice feature is the switch which allows momentary illumination or if you push down a little harder continuous illumination. The last advantage is the size. The picture may make it look bigger than it is, but it is only about 4 inches in length, which makes it convienent to keep in a pants pocket where it will be available at any time it is needed. I have bought 4 of them. 3 are for Christmas presents, and the 4th is mine. I just had to have one for myself. I can comfortably recommend this flashlight to anyone.
