Product Description Provides a powerful, even and adjustable white light, with long light duration. A single light source in a compact headlamp for multiple uses. Light distance: up to 35 m (50 m in boost mode). Light duration: up to 120 hours. Compact and lightweight. Tiltable light body enables light beam to be directed where needed.
Amazon.com Product Description The Petzl TIKKA XP is at the cutting edge of high-output hands-free-lighting. Though it weighs just over 3 ounces, this headlamp still blasts out up to 35 lumens to a distance of up to 114 feet. It gives you a lot of flexibility in terms of lighting options, too. You get three different lighting levels (maximum, optimum, and economic) and two beam options (flood and spot) for short- and long-range illumination. Plus, if you really need to see what's making that growling noise way up ahead on the trail, it features a boost mode that increases output to 40 lumens for a 160-foot range beam (boost mode automatically shuts off after 20 seconds to conserve energy). And if you get lost running away from whatever was growling at you, it also includes an emergency strobe mode that makes you easy to locate. The TIKKA XP will last up to 120 on the three included AAA batteries. If you do get toward the end of your charge, a battery level indicator lets you know when the batteries are 70% and 90% discharged. The Petzl TIKKA XP comes with a comfortable elastic headband and three AAA batteries. Three-year guarantee.--Josh Dettweiler What's in the Box Headlamp with strap, headstrap, 3 AA/LR6 batteries

Great Headlamp October 20, 2008 You usually get what you pay for. This case is no exception. I LOVE this headlamp. It's easy to turn off/on when it's on your head. The tilt adjustment stays where you set it. Very easy to readjust the tilt while it's on your head. Bright enough for having to get around in the dark.
Bright Light September 20, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Headlamps come in many shapes and forms. The Tikka XP is a bright, light weight headlamp. I like the feature of having a diffuser that slides over the spotlight. If you can find them, purchase the colored diffusers. I replaced the clear one that came with the Tikka XP, with a red diffuser. This is a great feature at night as it allows you to see your surrounding clearly, without significantly impacting your night vision.
Please note: if you intend on using this with a bike, do not use the red diffuser, because the light is limited to about 10 feet.
It Lights my Way September 6, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This headlamp hangs around a statue of Buddha by my front door, reminding me to don it when I take the garbage out at night down my dark, long, earthen driveway to the road below. Snakes, tarantulas, scorpions and larger creatures are out and about at night, so it is essential to see where one is stepping! This headlamp lights my way. I also like to use it coming home from any venue where the light is dim and I need to get back to my car. Not traditional uses, but really important ones. I think this would make a thoughtful gift.
Most versatile headlamp available July 30, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
There is a reason this headlamp receives accolades: it is the best out there. Comfortable, easy to use, bright, long-lasting battery and versatile. I bought several--my parents keep one in each car now for emergencies.
I'm surprised at the brighness June 16, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
For a headlamp--first that I've owned, it feels solid and bright. Just thought of buying something I need to use once in a while while working on bikes and cars, but it should be useful for just about anything like walking at night. The headband is quite sturdy feeling and solid constructions. No complaints.
