Amazon.com Review Gear up for the holidays and beyond with this high-quality 50-lamp 5mm wide-angle LED light set by GKI/ Bethlehem Lighting. Strung on a low-profile green cord, the energy-efficient, stay-cool lights emit a warm white twinkle to wash tree branches, a mantelpiece, or front-door wreath in tasteful illumination. Want to use the lights all year round? Tired of the disappointing performance of some light strings after only one holiday season? This set is crafted with strict manufacturing requirements to ensure the brightest, most consistent, truest colors possible. Safety-certified and UL listed for indoor and outdoor use, the lights also feature UV protection and a patented external lamp lock to prevent loose or twisted connections--a common culprit in light set malfunction. Got a burnout? One failed bulb will not cast the whole string into darkness. The set is backed by a 3-year/3,000-hour warranty. --Kara Karll

LED light string January 6, 2009 Good stuff! I used it as a gift, so I don't have any information on it till next Christmas when it gets used. It arrived when it was promised, the package was in good shape, and the recipient was very happy.
I love these energy efficient warm white LED lights! January 4, 2009 These LED lights take a fraction of the energy than the regular incandescent lights do. In fact, measuring the energy used with the Kill A Watt meter P3 International P4400 Kill A Watt Electricity Usage Monitor shows that 50 lights use only 3 watts, less than most single incandescent night lights. The color is warm, not the blueish light of regular white LED's. Some people mentioned that they twinkle, but these do not twinkle but stay on steadily.
I use these lights on an 8 foot silk maple tree we have in our entry way. (It looks something like this: Silk Tree - 6' JAPANESE MAPLE_TREE_625 LEAVES Potted) I have them on a timer to turn on at sundown and turn off around 11 PM. The tiny lights look great on the tree. Such a little thing, but they add so much to the ambiance of the room. I ended up liking the look so much that I'm putting a string on the silk tree in the family room. These lights are quite bright even though the size is about half of my baby fingernail. They're brighter than the incandescent mini Christmas tree lights that you often see. They make great mood lighting for when we're watching TV or a movie. Another nice feature is that they don't emit any heat like the old fashioned lights do, so you don't have to worry about them starting a fire.
Since the lights can be used indoor or outdoor and last around 3000 hours, I'm thinking of getting a couple topiary trees for the front porch and using these lights on them. I'm thinking they'd also look good strung around the edge of a patio umbrella in the summer and give off enough light for evening dining. Rope lights might also be good for this purpose. The photo in this link is a good example of the color of light in both cool and warm LED's 10Ft Rope Lights; Warm White LED Rope Light Kit 2800K; 2.0"Spacing; Christmas Lights; Christmas Decoration
Best led lights I've bought! December 26, 2008 These are the best LED Christmas lights I've bought. I bought them at a local garden store, not from Amazon, but it's the same product.
The color is almost the same as incandescent white lights, and in fact, I used one strand of these LED lights with incandescent right next to each other on my porch and from a distance you can't see the difference. These are not the horrible bluish white lights that other LED lights are. Make sure you buy the "Warm White" LED Lights to get this color-I'm guessing the one reviewer who didn't like the color bought the "white" lights, which are the typical LED cool white color. This particular product isn't a twinkling light, but they do sell twinkle LED lights.
My only reservation about the product is I wish the 25' strand had 100 lights instead of 50. I like the lights being closer than 6" to each other. Other than that, I highly recommend them.
So Close But Yet So Far... December 18, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
They're bright. They twinkle. And they TRY to be warm white, but they just AREN'T. I wound seven strings around our fraser fir and the lights were breathtaking. Trouble was, two hours later we were still trying to catch our breath. They're simply too bright, cold, and harsh for the living room. It's a shame, really -- these lights are perfect for a tree at City Hall, or the Galleria. But they just aren't warm. After three days of nobody turning on the tree lights when we got home from work or school, I took all the ornaments off and removed the lights. Back up went the old-fashioned incandescents, and we're all much happier. Next year I'll use these LED's outdoors on the shrubbery.
Great LED Twinkle X-Mas Lights November 6, 2008 11 out of 12 found this review helpful
I just got a set of the LED twinkle lights and they are quite good. They are "warm" colored LED lights, so they look more like incandescent mini bulbs rather than the blueish LEDs that I more often see. They aren't really as warm colored as incandescent, but they're good. They do have that high-frequency pulse that you can see if you turn your head quickly, but that's minor (and will be the case with virtually any LED lamp).
The best part for me is the twinkle feature. I don't like the blinking or patterns that are programmed and the whole string changes in unison--too mechanical. On this string every 6th or so bulb blinks on and off randomly. Each bulb that twinkles has it's own little controller. That makes the twinkling random and subtle along the string. It's not adjustable as there is no control.
This set is just what I was looking for--a traditional string of lights, with a random twinkle feature, in low-power, cool-running LEDs. I bought 5 strings to wire up a full tree.
