They do the job stated - do not scratch the wood, big enough for nice sized dish towels. However, even though it has felt padding to protect your cabinets, it slips and slides all over the door and you have to keep pushing it back into place or it will fall off. Perhaps the padding should have a few gel-type nodules to keep it from sliding around. Then it would be perfect.

The rings to this towel holder are actually a shiny chrome -covered plastic. Only the clamp is a satin-finished metal. I've attached a photo that shows the seam down the middle of the ball and the protruding plastic pieces holding it all together. I have 1/2" thick cabinet doors and the clamp is too big. The felt backing only protects the cabinet door - the metal clamp bangs the cabinet frame each time the door closes. This quality is more suited to the laundry room than the kitchen.

I just had my kitchen redone and had no place for towel racks, thought I would give these a try, they are great. Everyone who sees them in my kitchen asks where I got them from because they want them too. I was afraid they might scratch my new cabinets, but the felt works great. I added small felt bumpers on the outside to keep them from hitting the outside cabinet wall.
